The gastronomy in this area never fails to impress. Its rice dishes, fish and seafood, fresh vegetables, fruits and exquisite wines go together to make an explosion of tastes and menus all based on the so-called Mediterranean diet which is why Spain is consistently voted the healthiest country in the world according to the Bloomberg Healthiest Country Index.

Denia the capital of the Marina Alta in the Region also boasts one of only nine 3 Michelin-starred restaurants in Spain, ranked 68 of the best restaurants in the world. Without a doubt, Denia stands as a true gastronomic environment in which emerges with force new trends of the cuisine. Dénia was awarded the "Creative City of Gastronomy by UNESCO" in 2015 putting this Mediterranean port city of Costa Blanca North on the world map of gastronomic culture. In 2019 Denia was selected, along with five other European cities, to draw up a map of its cultural and gastronomic heritage that will be part of a project of shared identification of the values ​​of the European Union. Costa Blanca North is one of Spain’s fastest-growing golfing destinations, a unique destination for the chance to play all year round. The area is home to numerous excellent golf courses built to championship standards and 5-star golf resorts; some of which are hidden gems and others well-known masterpieces. The area's growing popularity is a testament to the number of high-quality golf courses of the professional standard one would expect from a golfing nation. World golf champions Seve Ballesteros and José María Olazábal have both played a hand in designing some of the region’s courses.

For those looking to Ski in the winter, you have the ski resorts of Javalambre and Valdelinares in Teruel, only 2.30 hrs away so you can go and ski for a couple of hours in the day and be back home in the evening.
